Adam was the first human being. God made Adam from the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:7) who was made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). He had the breath of life breathed into him from God (Genesis 2:7). Adam was given dominion over creation (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-20) which was signified in his naming the animals. He was given the command take care of the Garden of Eden which he failed to do by eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He was expelled from the Garden along with Eve.
Though Eve sinned first, sin entered the world through Adam (Romans 5:12) who was our Federal Head (he represented all of mankind). He lived 930 years (Gen. 5:5).
