Natural Law

Natural law has different meanings. It can mean those laws which are naturally derived from observing nature and are, therefore, obligatory to all mankind. In philosophy, it can mean those moral laws which are naturally inherent in being human and are thus knowable. In Roman Catholicism, the natural law is considered to be the 10 Commandments. Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2080), “the Decalogue contains a privileged expression of the natural law. It is made known to us by divine revelation and by human reason.”
