Troposphere

The troposphere is the area of the atmosphere that extends from the ground up to the stratosphere.  About 75% of the total mass of the atmosphere is contained in the troposphere with the greatest amount of weather occurring in it.  In the troposphere, air is warmest at the bottom and gets colder in elevation.  Also, air density is greatest at the bottom and lowest at the top.
