Why this section on persecution of Christians?

by Matt Slick

This section exists in order to document some of the many occurrences of persecution of Christians in various parts of the world.  As our culture here in America continues to degrade and turn its back on God, those who represent God will become targets.

  • Isaiah 5:20, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
  • Prov. 17:15, "He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord."

As political correctness gains momentum, Christians who are ill-equipped to deal with the onslaught of moral relativism will increasingly suffer.  My fear is that they will drop the sword that Jesus commanded them to buy (Luke 22:36), retreat, and

Many people say that Christians are not persecuted, but the contrary is true.  Our liberal media doesn't report on the news nearly as much as it shapes the news.  Instead of informing opinions it shapes them, and Christianity is in its crosshairs.

CARM is not able to document everything that occurs against Christians all over the world, let alone in the United States.  So, if you know of an instance where a Christian lost his job because of his faith, was intimidated and/or persecuted because of his belief that homosexuality is a sin, that marriage is for a man and a woman, that adultery is wrong, or for believing Jesus is God in flesh, etc., then please contact me.  All you need to do is provide a web address so we can check it out.
