Where do dinosaurs fit in the Book of Genesis? They fit in on the fifth and sixth days when God created sea life and land animals. This would include the dinosaurs. Gen. 1:24-25, “Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so. 25 God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.” However, they are extinct, along with 99.9% of other species that have ever lived on the earth1

- Day six – Land animals, creeping things, and man (male and female) are made.
- Gen. 1:23, “Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind’; and it was so.”

Possible mention of dinosaurs in the Bible
In the Book of Job, there are depictions of what appear to be dinosaurs. A land-based creature called the Behemototh can be in both water and the land. It is strong, powerful, has a tail like a cedar, bones like bronze, is stronger than a raging river, and cannot be caught with barbs (Job. 40:15-24)
There is also a water-based creature: Leviathan. It cannot be caught with a fishhook, captured with a rope, harpooned, has outer armor, terrifying teeth, and “sneezes flash forth light.” Smoke emits from its mouth. Its crashing causes people to be afraid. It cannot be reached with a spear, dart, javelin, arrows, or clubs. Iron is like straw to it, and it makes the depths boil like a pot. It makes a wake to shine forth from its movement (Job 41:1-3,7-10,12-23,25-33.)
Conclusion
Dinosaurs fit in the book of Genesis in the fifth and sixth days, with the fifth day dealing with oceanic dinosaurs and the sixth day dealing with land-based dinosaurs.
