Virus

In biology, a virus is a microscopic organism that is infectious, parasitic, replicates within living cells in the host body, and often causes disease.  Viruses can only function within living cells in the host.

In computers, a virus is a program designed to cause harmful actions on the computer such as destroying data, making the computer unusable, etc.  They often create files, erase files, alter files, and generally affect the computer negatively.
