Welcome to the May 25, 2006 Newsletter
Things have gotten so busy lately that I didn't put a newsletter out last week. My apologies. Nevertheless, I am now getting back on track.
CARM needs help
Once again I want to let people know that this Ministry need your help. It primarily needs prayer support since we are under constant spiritual attack. But also, we need people who would like to come on staff. I hope to find people who are here in the Boise Idaho area or who would be willing to move here and work with me. I would like to train a person or two to do this Ministry, to be able to research and write, and speak about various topics. The goal is to reproduce, to become fishers of men and not merely keepers of the aquarium. So, if you know someone who might be interested or if you are interested, please pray about this and if you feel that the Lord Mike pushing you in this direction, then please contact me.
Another area of support is an office type manager who could oversee people who work on various projects such as, 1) arranging radio guest interviews, 2) research other radio markets, 3) coordinating with people who can do PowerPoint, and/or flash, 4) coordinating with someone on audio editing, and more. There are lots of needs.
Also, one of the goals of this Ministry is to produce video DVDs containing explanations, teachings, interviews, etc., so that we can provide various lessons for ministries including youth groups, and Sunday school. These are broad goals and we need people who have the vision of defending the faith and equipping the Christian.
Remember to check out the CARM discussion boards (http://www.christiandiscussionforums.org/v/index.php). We have 4800 members and it is growing.
We have a live chat room located at http://www.carm.org/boards/chat.htm. It gets quite busy in the evening and we have a lot of good conversations. I'm usually in the room lurking and sometimes I join in. If interested, please check us out.
Online Schools Reminder
CARM as three online school's: Theology, Apologetics, and Critical Thinking located at http://www.carm.org/online.htm. They are there to help equip the body of Christ in theology, apologetics, and thinking. This is a major Ministry offering of CARM and that is used both to support CARM and to equip Christians. Please consider signing up for the schools so that you might offer support as well as learn what you need to know in order to better establish and defend the Christian faith. By the way, I'm offering all three schools that a substantial discount if you are interested.
Please remember that this Ministry runs because of your financial support. We are asking for people to donate just five dollars a month. If that is okay with you, you could go to http://www.carm.org/goods/donations.htm and set it up? Its easy. $5 a month isn't much, but when is added to the others who are contributing, it helps a great deal. Please consider this option.
We have some radio shows archived here http://www.live365.com/stations/matt_slick. You can also listen live to the show at http://www.myfamilyradio.com. I'm on at 6pm Mountain time on the AM station.
What are they saying about CARM?
CARM is constantly getting e-mails of thanks and praise and condemnation. Here are a few...in the raw.
I wanted to thank you for your web site. It is full of great information and I love the spirit in which you write. Judy
Thank you very much for the great work that you are doing. Actually few people in india have distributed cult handbills long years ago. in one of my relatives house i found that handbill and read i over joyed and visited your site, i dont have words to express. Raj
Hello folks, I just wanted to say that I enjoy your website, it is extremely helpful. Josh
Hey Matt Slick my Name is Jalil, Your web site has blessed me allot thank you so much i'll keep praying for your ministry. Please have you got anymore Audio they are so so Helpful thanks and God Bless.
Dear Mr. Slick, Thank you so much for your helpful web page. I respond to theological and apologetic correspondence for Ravi Zacharias, so I am always on the lookout for good web resources to point people to. I often send people to your site, especially when they inquire about Bible difficulties. Thank you for making such good articles available. Grace and peace to you.
I am an atheist and greatly appreciate your site. In particular I appreciate the two pages on mistakes that Christians and Atheists make. More of the debaters should heed your thoughts. Will
I want to say thank you fror providing me with alot of information regarding Christianity, Islam, Judiasm, Wicca, Athiesm, and many more religions. I've learned more some Carm than I would have learned in a lifetime without Carm. Thank you, now I feel more proud about being a Christian and I can finally have stronger faith in Christ. Ariel
I spent a lot of time reading on your web sight today, some of it was very interesting, and some of it was just plain ridicules. If the thought expressed in the writings on your web page is how you truly believe, it explains why so many of your members are rude and unfriendly to people of other beliefs than yours. I truly feel sorry for you, but mostly for the members of your church that think you are leading them the right way to return to there Heavenly Father. Oh by the way I was a struggling member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but after reading the stuff you have written not only about my faith but many others you have helped me find my way back to my faith. Thanks for that. Richard
It is sad that you are so naive to think that Jehovah's Witnesses are so wrong. Maybe in the new system you'll see the error of your ways. if you would like for me to back up my beliefs and prove to you that the Watchtower does NOT shape our beliefs, and that just show us the scriptures, I'd be glad to. Just write me back and I will. By the way, I just have to say that you calling yourself "Christian" is a lie. to be Christian is to be "Christ like". Jesus preached the good news. (Which also happens to be a direct commandment) DO YOU PREACH THE GOOD NEWS? just ask yourself that. Kristen
You sir need to take a hike and illuminate your site. Keep judging people and churches and you will get you are just reward a little down the road. If you really think you are that superior to others because you have a degree "in theology" you are living a lie!!!!!!! by the way I belong to the Church of the truth, see if you can find it and add it to your dead Man walking list. Steve

From the Theological Dictionary
An agreement between two parties. The agreement, according to Ancient Near East custom, consists of five parts: 1) Identification of parties, 2) Historical prologue where the deeds establishing the worthiness of the dominant party is established, 3) Conditions of the agreement, 4) Rewards and punishments in regard to keeping the conditions, and 5) Disposition of the documents where each party receives a copy of the agreement (e.g. the two tablets of stone of the 10 Commandments).
Ultimately, the covenants God has made with man result in our benefit. We receive eternal blessings from the covenant of grace. (For further study see Gen. 2:16-17; 9:1-17; 15:18; Gen. 26:3-5; Gal. 3:16-18; Luke 1:68-79; Heb. 13:20).
