Mary the subject of preaching and worship: documents

by | Nov 11, 2014 | Roman Catholicism, World Religions

Following is the documentation from a Roman Catholic book demonstrating that Mary is worshiped. The following graphics are the bibliographic information that I scanned so that you could see for yourself which book it came from and what page it is on.

From Vatican Collection Volume 1, Vatican Council II, The Conciliar and Post Conciliar Documents.  General Editor Austin Flannery, O.P. New revised edition 1992; Costello publishing company, Northport, New York.  1992 pages 420-421 (par. 65)  Return to Mary the subject of preaching and worship.

As you can see, it says, “Having entered deeply into the history of salvation, Mary, in a way, unites in her person and re-echoes the most important doctrines of the faith; and when she is the subject of preaching and worship she prompts the faithful to come to her Son, to his sacrifice and to the love of the Father”

In this version, which is officially approved, Mary is worshiped. Other Vatican two documents may have a different word for worship.
