Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm is the material in a cell that exists between the cell wall and the nucleus. It encompasses whatever is contained in the cell except for the nucleus. Within the cytoplasm includes the cytosol (fluid), organelles (specialized sub-units that perform various functions), and the cytoskeleton (gives the cell its shape).
