Neanderthal

neanderthalIn the theory of evolution, the Neanderthal is supposed to be an extinct species that preceded Homo sapiens.  Some scientists think Neanderthals are precursors to humans and others do not.  Apparently they coexisted with early humans but did not interbreed with them.  The Neanderthals were supposed to have lived from approximately 120,000 to 35,000 years ago in Western Asia and Northern Africa.
