Word study on deigma, example

by | Oct 11, 2018 | Annihilationism, Minor Groups & Issues

The Greek word δεῖγμα, deigma, occurs once in the New Testament in Jude 7 where it says that the wicked people are exhibited as an example of undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.  The implication is that this punishment is occurring at this time.  Such an interpretation stands in stark contrast to the conditionalist opinion that people are not being punished now in the afterlife.
