Bishop

Bishop

A Bishop (Greek episcopos) is an office in the Christian church.  It is mentioned in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.  The requirements for being a Bishop are the same as those of an elder.  The word is also translated as ‘overseer’.

In Roman Catholicism, a Bishop is the head of a diocese, successor of the apostles
