Big DipperA constellation is a grouping of stars that are perceived to have a pattern (i.e., resembling an image). Constellations have also been given names such as Orion, Cancer, Leo (the Lion), Ursa Major (in which is the Big Dipper), etc. They are often named after mythical figures.
