Diaconate

The word “diaconate” comes from the Greek “diaconos” and means servant. In the church, it is most frequently used to designate someone who serves or helps others. In ecclesiastical matters, it refers to the office of Deacon (1 Timothy 3:8) diavkono, occurs 31 times in the New Testament, and is translated as a minister, servant, and deacon.
