dna-structureDNA is short for deoxyribonucleic acid–the building block of life that provides the hereditary material that is a blueprint for living organisms. It is formed by two nucleotide base pairs AT and GC that attach to the sugar-phosphate backbone that forms the helix pattern. The information is found along the axis in the arrangement of the base pairs.
