An exorcism is an act of expelling or casting a demonic/evil presence out from a person. Exorcism is mentioned in the New Testament. Jesus cast out demons (Matt.12:27; Mark 1:23-26; 5:1-13; Mark 9:25-26; 16:17; Luke 9:1; 10:17; 11:19), as did Paul (Acts 16:16-18), and the Jews (Acts 19:13). The Jews accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of the evil one (Mark 3:22).
