- Islam: Damnation is an eternal judgment of condemnation where those who were not true Muslims go to suffer fire and boiling water.

- Jehovah’s Witnesses: Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that damnation is annihilation without any conscious torment after death. It is simply non-existence.

- LDS – Mormonism: Damnation has different meanings, but it generally means a failure to meet the highest exaltation to Godhead in the celestial kingdom. There is a sense in which damnation is also a severe punishment in the afterlife. But, according to Mormonism, total, complete, and eternal damnation is only for the devil and his angels.

- New Age Movement: There is no concept of damnation in the New Age Movement that equates with Christianity. However, it would be considered a place of self-denial, self-delusion that can occur now or after death and last for as long as the person refuses to believe the truth of his own divinity and divinity of others.
- Roman Catholicism: Damnation is eternal separation from God in hell, the same as biblical revelation. However, it is the result of those who have not earned salvation by obtaining it through baptism, works, and sacraments.
