Fiducia

Fiducia

Fiducia is a faithful trust in something. It is different than ascentia.  Ascentia is mental assent, mental acknowledgment of the fact or existence of something.  But, Fiducia is a faithful trust in that fact or existence. Where ascentia is nothing more than mental acknowledgment (the way the devil would acknowledge that God exists), Fiducia is faith and trust in God.
