A relic is a part of the body of a saint, including clothing, jewelry, etc. The relic is considered holy due to its association with the saint. Relics are often revered and often associated with healing powers. A verse often used to support the idea of relics is Acts 19:11-12, “And God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.” However, relics are misused and almost worshipped by the superstitious, especially within Roman Catholicism.
