Sanctifying Grace

In Roman Catholicism, sanctifying grace is a permanent disposition that perfects the soul itself to enable it to live with God and to act by His love. Sanctifying grace is the grace of salvation that must be maintained. Those dying in sanctifying grace go either to purgatory or directly to Heaven. Sanctifying grace is also known as justifying grace or habitual grace.
