William Branham

William Branham was an American preacher who was born in 1906 and died in 1965.  He was raised in a poor nominally Catholic family. At a young age, he said he had a spiritual experience and was converted to Christianity.  Soon afterward, he began preaching at churches and eventually developed public tent meetings.  He was known for healings, prophecy, exorcisms, words of knowledge – and many false teachings.william branham

William Branham claimed to be God’s voice (#3 below). He rejected the idea of the Trinity because he said it was three Gods (#5). Instead, he taught that God was one person and that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were offices. Consistent with that error is his teaching that baptism must be done “in Jesus’ name” (#6). And, to make things worse, he affirmed the serpent seed doctrine which is the teaching that Satan had sex with Eve and their offspring was Cain. The descendants of Cain are evil (#7)

There are reports of miraculous healings but there are also reports of follow-ups where people still suffered from the ailments from which they had supposedly been healed.  In addition, he made many prophecies that have not been verified and which have even been shown to be false.
