The Bible says that our human nature is fallen (Isaiah 64:6; Rom. 3:10-12; 6:23; 1 Cor. 15:22). Therefore, we always move towards moral decline, which leads to cultural problems. All we have to do is look at our nation (any nation) and see the slide towards debauchery, immorality, and self-centeredness. We are adopting the ways of Sodom and Gomorrah and flirting with socialism.
As people, we naturally rebel against God and the truth of his word. Those of us who are redeemed will war against our depravity and submit ourselves to Scripture. But, those who deny Christ’s redemptive work and the absolute morality revealed in scripture will find something else to believe in. Usually, it is something self-serving. Therefore, they adopt moral relativism, sensuality, and base desires. They push their ungodliness into the culture and seek to gather others to their way of thinking (Romans 1:30). Homosexuality, transgenderism, racism, LGBTQ, radical feminism, etc., are all topics that were once taboo. Now they are common subjects on radio, tv, print, social media, blogs, etc. They want their morality and beliefs forced on everyone. This is why our culture is spiraling downward towards greater and greater depravity. They are flirting with Sodom. They are in bed with Gomorrah.
Technological comforts aid in this moral decay. People don’t need God when they have air-conditioned cars, medicines, heated homes, TV, and cell-phones. Instant gratification becomes the norm which only helps people sink to the lowest common denominator – self-gratification. With it comes abortion, pornography, sexual immorality, and narcissism. It is our nature (Eph. 2:3). This is why societies never gradually get better. They always gradually get worse. Liberalism always becomes the dominant system in any culture – because self-gratification is born out of comfort. It permeates our culture and forces its way into the church. That is why so many pulpits present “therapeutic sermons.” For too many, the Bible becomes a self-help book dispensing advice in seven easy steps to whatever-you-need. It can solve your personal problems and make you more prosperous. Jesus is there to comfort you and help you feel better about yourself. It’s your best life now.
Marxist Socialism’s ugly face
Accompanying this moral decline towards sodom is the leftist propaganda of cultural and economic injustices. LGBTQ and minorities, especially black people, are set against white people. The classic Marxist conflict between the haves and have nots is repackaged into a class struggle between those benefiting from white supremacy and everyone else. The result is protests, riots, the cancel culture, denial of free speech, and threats against the free exercise of religion. Our culture is turning against itself because everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes (Judges 21:25). Jesus said that a house divided against itself could not stand (Mark 3:25). Our house is divided.
The liberals have abandoned reason, rejected traditional morals, and are trying to implement a so-called democratic socialist agenda. Even though socialism has failed miserably all over the world every time, here in America, the progressives say “they will do it right.” Their foolish arrogance and blatant ignorance are obvious to everyone except themselves. But, unfortunately, at the moment, they are in power. They have been organized and aggressive. The leftists will push their moral-political agenda and make abortion a right, homosexuality the norm, promiscuity a common practice, pornography an art form, and increasing violence as good entertainment. The degrading onslaught against our sensibilities is constant.
Politically, the progressives are trying to implement socialist policies to ensure what they call a “fair and equitable distribution of resources and opportunity. This way, white supremacy, racism, and inequality will be eliminated – or so they say. But, when their socialist policies fail, as they always do, who will they blame? Themselves? Of course not. They are too self-blinded for that.
Instead, like Nazi Germany, they will find a scapegoat. Here in our leftist, LGBTQ, cancel culture, the attack on conservatives and the Judeo Christian ethics is well underway. And it will continue. Consider the following.

The list goes on and on. The progressives are on the attack, and when things go bad due to their own policies, they will continue blaming others. It is the way of the depraved.
Conclusion
Leftist progressivism has trampled underfoot the Judeo-Christian morality and biblical framework that established our country. It is replacing it with a new self-centered, immorality, and socialist mentality. Our country is at a crossroads. We can go left towards sodom and socialism or to the right towards godliness. I don’t know what will happen. Maybe people will finally see the path we are on and work to change direction before it’s too late. Perhaps God will intervene. Or, then again, maybe our country will implode. I can only pray that people will turn their eyes to God and ask Him to deliver us from the progressives’ self-made destruction.
