There are different arguments for the inspiration of Scripture, but the following is rather different.  It takes information from passages in the Greek New Testament and analyzes them to see the number of verbs, nouns, words that begin with a vowel, words that begin with a consonant, etc., and analyzes them to see if there is a design within it. Now, this might sound a little odd, but please bear with me as we examine this information. I think is very interesting, especially when we look at the genealogy of Jesus in Greek.

I have reproduced the text of the genealogy of Jesus as is found in Matthew 1:1-17. This is in English. Afterward, I have reproduced the same text in Greek. You don’t have to understand Greek, but I provided it because, well, I thought it is a good idea so you could see what it looks like.

Then, in the end, there is a table that analyzes the Greek word patterns. In my opinion, this is evidence of inspiration. The analysis of the Greek is taken from the work of Ivan Panin, a mathematician.  The information can be found at

Analysis of the Greek words of the Genealogy of Jesus

Please notice the patterns of their occurrence of numbers divisible by seven. At first, she might not think it’s difficult for anyone to write something to make the number of words and such divisible by seven. But it’s not that easy. I tried to write a paragraph in English with the total number of words that was 72. I then try to write make sure that the same paragraph had 56 nouns.  I tried to make sure that the number of letters in the paragraph were divisible by seven, that the number of vowels was divisible by seven, etc.  It didn’t take long before the task was so difficult that I gave up.

Yet, we see this complex pattern in the Greek of the genealogy of Jesus. Is it evidence that the Bible is inspired? Or, is it merely a coincidence?
