A denomination is a religious group that has distinct beliefs and/or practices. Christian denominations would consist of Baptist, Presbyterians, Lutherans, etc. Christian denominations hold to the essentials (Deity of Christ, Jesus’ physical resurrection, Trinity, Monotheism, etc.) of the Christian faith but differ in belief and practice with the non-essentials such as baptizing infants or not, what day to worship on, eschatological views, etc.
