Is the Quran really from God?

by | Apr 20, 2024 | Islam, World Religions

Is the Quran really from God? Muslims say it is. Christians say it is not. So which is it? After all, simply saying it is or is not from God does not make it so. Therefore, to find out if it’s from God, we need to look at it, see what it says, and see if it contains information that would suggest it is or is not from God. That is what this article is about, showing that the Quran is faulty, full of contradictions, and has lots of errors. Now, what’s worth noting here is that the Quran says that if there is any discrepancy within its pages, it’s not from God (Quran 4:82). That’s important. It says that it is from a tablet that is preserved ‘in heaven’ (Quran 85:21-23), that nothing has been omitted from it (Quran 6:38), and that it has been guarded against corruption (Quran 15:9). So if this is true, then it has set its own standard. Therefore, we can examine it against itself and see if it has the marks of inspiration or is the fabrication by a false prophet. Is the Quran really from God?

  1. If the Quran has any discrepancies, it is not from God  Quran 4:82, (Yusif Ali), “Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.”
  2. The Quran is from a tablet preserved in heaven  Quran 85:21-23, (Yusif Ali), “Day, this is a Glorious Qur’an, 23 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!”
  3. The Quran is guarded from corruption  Quran 15:9, (Yusuf Ali), “We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).”
  4. The Quran is nothing omitted from it  Quran 6:38, (Yusuf Ali), “There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.”

“I AM” is the name of God, but not in the Quran.

When God talks to Moses, He reveals His holy name. God says, “I AM WHO I AM; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you’ ” (Exodus 3:14). The words “I AM” form the name of God, called the tetragrammaton: YHWH. We get Yahweh or Jehovah as Englishized pronunciations of those four letters. In fact, it says, “Yahweh is His name” in Exo. 15:3; Jer. 33:2; Amos 5:8; 9:6. Furthermore, God’s name, YHWH, occurs 6517 times in the Old Testament.

If the Quran is from the same God as Moses (Quran 5:44), including Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Quran 4:163), then why does it never mention the name of God as revealed to Moses (Exodus 3:14-15) and the prophets? Perhaps it is because the God of the Quran does not identify himself as the same God of the Old Testament, the I AM. This is a problem.

The Quran contradicts the Bible.

  1. God taught Adam the names of all things (Quran 2:31). The Bible says that Adam named the animals of his own will (Gen. 2:19).
  2. The Quran says Jesus was not crucified (Quran 4:157). The Bible says Jesus was crucified (Matt. 27:44; Mark 15:32; Luke 23:33; John 19:18).
  3. The Quran says that Jesus is no more than a messenger (Quran 4:171). The Bible says He is God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14; Col. 2:9; Heb. 1:8).
  4. The Quran says that the Trinity is three gods (Quran 5:73). The Bible says that God, who is a Trinity, is one God (Deut. 6:4; Isaiah 43:10; 44:6, 8; 45:5).

The Quran contradicts the Bible in many areas. Muslims will say the Bible has been corrupted, and should not be trusted. In contradiction to that, Quran says, “Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein…” (Quran 5:47). Also, “So if you (O Muhammad) are in doubt concerning that which We have revealed unto you, [i.e. that your name is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] then ask those who are reading the Book [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] before you…” (Quran 10:94). If the Bible has been corrupted, then why does Allah tell Muhammad to appeal to the Christians who read the Bible?

Statistically speaking, the Bible manuscripts, particularly the New Testament, are incredibly well transmitted and copied from original documents to now. (See Is the Bible trustworthy as a historical document?) Though there are slight variances among copies, the message and the truth of them are not compromised. Now, the Muslims will cite is that your variance as proof that the Bible is corrupted. But, if they want to be consistent, they need to look at the Sana Quranic manuscripts which demonstrate that the Quran is not as reliably transmitted as it claims. It has variants. For this, see the article “Has the Quran been preserved perfectly?

Allah is a deceiver

If Allah is the true God, can he or will he deliberately, by his own hand, deceive people? In other words, will he do anything where he is the one who actively deceives? In Christianity, the answer is no. In Islam, the answer is yes. Allah deceives people, as is recorded in the Quran. (See the article Allah is proven to be a deceiver). Let’s take a look at what the Quran says.

Surah 4:157, That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Apostle of Allah”—but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not.”

It says that ” it was made to appear to them” that Jesus was crucified when He really was not. The text of the Quran does not specifically state that it was Allah who made it appear to them. However, the Tafsir (commentaries on the Quran by Muslim scholars), say it was Allah.

  1. In other words God cast his Jesus’s likeness to him and so they thought it was him Jesus.” (Tafsir al-Jalalayn, Feras Hamza, https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=74&tSoraNo=4&tAyahNo=157&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2 )
  2. Allah made Tatianos look like Jesus and so they killed him instead of him.” (Sunni Tafsir Ibn ‘Abbas, trans. Mokrane Guezzou, https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=2&tTafsirNo=73&tSoraNo=4&tAyahNo=157&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2)
  3. It is said that God caused the one who slandered [Jesus] to resemble him and he was killed and crucified in his place.” (Al Qushairi Tafsir, https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=108&tSoraNo=4&tAyahNo=157&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2)

If we are to take what the Muslim experts say about this verse, then it was Allah who deceived people by his direct hand. This means the God of Islam is a deceiver. How can he be trusted?

Some Muslims will not affirm that all did the deceiving. Some of them will say we don’t know who did it? But when you cross-examine them and ask them to explain how someone was made to look like Jesus, when it was not really Him, they fail to offer competent explanations.

The Quran Can’t Have Discrepancies

If the Quran is true, then there can be no discrepancies. That is what the Quran says. Here are three different translations of the same verse.

  • Quran 4:82, (Pickthall), “Will they not then ponder on the Qur’an? If it had been from other than Allah they would have found therein much incongruity.”
  • Quran 4:82, (Sahih Intl), “Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.”
  • Quran 4:82, (Yusuf Ali) “Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care)? Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much discrepancy.”

According to the Quran, there are no incongruities, contradictions, or discrepancies. If there were, then it would not be from Allah. So, does it or doesn’t it? Yes, it does, a lot of them.

Contradictions within the Quran

Here is a short list of contradictions in the Quran. They are expanded below.

  1. Which was created first, heaven or earth? (Heaven, Quran 79:27-30; Earth, 2:29)
  2. Did Allah part the heavens or bring them together? (Parted, Quran 21:30; Come together, 41:11)
  3. Can Allah have a son? (Yes, Quran 39:4; No 6:101)
  4. Does Allah know all, or does he forget (Knows all things, Quran 24:60; Forgets, 32:14)
  5. Is there compulsion in Religion? (Yes, Quran 9:29; No, 2:256)
  6. What did Allah use to create people? (Congealed blood, Quran 96:1-2; Water, 25:54; Clay 15:26; Dust, 30:20)
  7. What do unbelievers eat in hell (No food, only pus, Quran 69:31-36; thorn fruit, 88:6; tree of Zaqqum, 37:62-64; 44:43-44)
  8. Intercession on the Day of Judgment (No intercession, Quran 2:123; intercession allowed, 20:109)
  9. Can shirk be forgiven? (Can not be forgiven, Quran 4:48; can be forgiven, 4:153; 39:53)
  10. Is Heaven for Muslims only or others? (Muslims only, Quran 3:85; Not just Muslims, 2:62)
  11. Pharaoh drowned or not? (Pharoah was drowned, Quran 17:101-103; Not drowned 10:90-92)
  12. Who was the first Muslim? (Abraham Quran 2:132; Jesus’ disciples, 39:52; Moses, 7:143; Muhammad, 39:11-12)

Now, let’s expand the list above so you can more easily see the problems. I’ve colored the ones that are particularly good.

  1. Which was created first, heaven or earth? (Heaven, Quran 79:27-30; Earth, 2:29)
    1. Heaven first, Quran 79:27-30, (Pickthall) “Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? 28 He raised the height thereof and ordered it; 29 And He made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof. 30 And after that He spread the earth.”
    2. Earth first, Quran 2:29, (Pickthall) “He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things.”
  2. Did Allah part the heavens or bring them together? (Parted, Quran 21:30; Come together, 41:11)
    1. Parted: Quran 21:30, (Pickthall) “Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?”
    2. Come togetherQuran 41:11, (Yusuf Ali) “Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: “Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly.” They said: “We do come (together), in willing obedience.”
  3. Can Allah have a son? (Yes, Quran 39:4; No 6:101)
    1. Yes, Allah can have a son: Quran 39:4, (Yusuf Ali) “Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He doth create: but Glory be to Him! (He is above such things.) He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible.”
    2.  No, Allah cannot have a son: Quran 6:101, (Yusuf Ali) “To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things.”
      1.  Comment: Allah can’t have a son because he can’t have sex with a woman to have a son. Yet, all he has to do is say “Be” and it is. Why then cannot Allah say “Be” and have a son?
      2.  Comment: Allah must have sex with a woman to have a son (Quran 6:101). Obviously not, since Quran 3:47 says that Mary had a son without having sex.
  4. Does Allah know all, or does he forget (Knows all things, Quran 24:60; Forgets, 32:14)
    1. Knows all things: Quran 24:60, (Yusuf Ali) “Such elderly women as are past the prospect of marriage – there is no blame on them if they lay aside their (outer) garments, provided they make not a wanton display of their beauty: but it is best for them to be modest: and Allah is One Who sees and knows all things.”
    2. ForgetsQuran 32:14, (Yusuf Ali) “Taste ye then – for ye forgot the Meeting of this Day of yours, and We too will forget you – taste ye the Penalty of Eternity for your (evil) deeds!”
  5. Is there compulsion in Religion? (Yes, Quran 9:29); No, 2:256)
    1. Yes, Compulsion: Quran 9:29, (Yusuf Ali) “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”
    2. No Compulsion: Quran 2:256, (Yusuf Ali) “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.”
  6. What did Allah use to create people? ()Congealed blood, Quran 96:1-2; Water, 25:54; Clay 15:26; Dust, 30:20)
    1. Congealed blood: Quran 96:1-2, (Yusuf Ali) “Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created 2 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood.”
    2. Water: Quran 25:54, (Pickthall) “And He it is Who hath created man from water, and hath appointed for him kindred by blood and kindred by marriage; for thy Lord is ever Powerful.”
    3. Clay: Quran 15:26, (Yusuf Ali) “We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape.”
    4. Dust: Quran 30:20, (Pickthall) “And of His signs is this: He created you of dust, and behold you human beings, ranging widely!”
  7. What do unbelievers eat in hell (No food, only pus, Quran 69:31-36; thorn fruit, 88:6; tree of Zaqqum, 44:43-44)
    1. No food, only pus: Quran 69:31-36, (Yusuf Ali) “Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds.” 31 “And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 32 “Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 33 “This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 34 “And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 35 “So no friend hath he here this Day. 36 “Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds.”
    2. No food, only thorn-fruit, Quran 88:6, (Pickthall) “No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit.”
    3. The Tree of Zaqqum, Quran 37:62-64, (Yusuf Ali) “Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 63 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 64 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire.” (Yusuf Ali).  And, Quran 44:43-44, “Verily the tree of Zaqqum 44. Will be the food of the Sinful.”
  8. Intercession on the Day of Judgment (No intercession, Quran 2:123; intercession allowed, 20:109)
    1. No Intercession, Quran 2:123, (Pickthall) “And guard (yourselves) against a day when no soul will in aught avail another, nor will compensation be accepted from it, nor will intercession be of use to it; nor will they be helped.”
    2. Intecession allowed, Quran 20:109, (Pickthall) “On that day no intercession availeth save (that of) him unto whom the Beneficent hath given leave and whose word He accepteth.”
  9. Can shirk be forgiven? (Can not be forgiven, Quran 4:48; can be forgiven, 4:153)
    1. Can not be forgiven, Quran 4:48, (Yusuf Ali) “Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.” (Yusuf Ali)  And Quran 4:116, “Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).”
    2. Can be forgiven, Quran 4:153, (Yusuf Ali) “The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: “Show us Allah in public,” but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses manifest proofs of authority.” And, Quran 39:53, (Yusuf Ali) “Say: “O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
  10. Is Heaven for Muslims only or others? (Muslims only, Quran 3:85; Not just Muslims, 2:62)
    1. Muslims only: Quran 3:85, (Yusuf Ali) “If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).”
    2. Not just Muslims: Quran 2:62, (Yusuf Ali) “Those who believe (in the Qur’an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians, any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”
      1. Comment: Notice it groups those who believe in the Quran with Jews and Christians
  11. Did the Pharaoh drown or not? (Pharoah was drowned, Quran 17:101-103; Not drowned 10:90-92)
    1. Drowned: Quran 17:101-103, (Yusuf Ali) “To Moses We did give Nine Clear Signs: As the Children of Israel: when he came to them, Pharaoh said to him: “O Moses! I consider thee, indeed, to have been worked upon by sorcery! 102 Moses said, “Thou knowest well that these things have been sent down by none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth as eye-opening evidence: and I consider thee indeed, O Pharaoh, to be one doomed to destruction!” 103  So he resolved to remove them from the face of the earth: but We did drown him and all who were with him.”
    2. Not drowned: Quran 10:90-92, (Yusuf Ali) “We took the Children of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in insolence and spite. At length, when overwhelmed with the flood, he said: “I believe that there is no god except Him Whom the Children of Israel believe in: I am of those who submit (to Allah in Islam).” (It was said to him [Pharoah]): “Ah now!- But a little while before, wast thou in rebellion!- and thou didst mischief (and violence)! 92 “This day shall We save thee in the body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! but verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs!”
  12. Who was the first Muslim? (Abraham Quran 2:132; Jesus’ disciples, 39:52; Moses 7:143; Muhammad 39:11-12)
    1. Abraham: Quran 2:132, (Yusuf Ali) “And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; “Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam.”
    2. Jesus’ DisciplesQuran 39:52, (Yusuf Ali) “When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: “Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?” Said the disciples: “We are Allah’s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims.”
    3. Moses: Quran 7:143, (Yusuf Ali), “When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: “O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee.” Allah said: “By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its place, then shalt thou see Me.” When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: “Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe.”
    4. Muhammad: Quran 39:11-12,  (Yusuf Ali) “Say: “Verily, I [Muhammad] am commanded to serve Allah with sincere devotion; 12 “And I am commanded to be the first of those who bow to Allah in Islam.”

Scientific Mistakes in the Quran

  1. Man’s Seed formed in his chest:
    1. Surah 86:5-7, (Yusuf Ali) “Now let man but think from what he is created! 6 He is created from a drop emitted. 7 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.”
      1. Comment: The Hadith (recorded sayings and deeds of Muhammad and others), supports the idea that a man’s seed comes from his chest.  Sahih Bukhari, (The best reliable Hadith) “Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, “Allah will say to that person of the (Hell) Fire who will receive the least punishment, ‘If you had everything on the earth, would you give it as a ransom to free yourself (i.e. save yourself from this Fire)?’ He will say, ‘Yes.’ Then Allah will say, ‘While you were in the backbone of Adam, I asked you much less than this, i.e. not to worship others besides Me, but you insisted on worshipping others besides me.’ ” (https://sunnah.com/bukhari: 3334)
  2. The Sun sets in murky water
    1. Surah 18:86, (Yusuf Ali) “Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: “O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness.”
      1. Comment: Some Muslims say this is poetry. It may be the case, or it may not be. Perhaps Mohammed did not understand basic cosmology and inserted myth into the Quran. Nevertheless, Muslims will often read into the Quran whatever they can to make it look scientifically accurate. However, when the Quran makes obvious factual errors, they say it’s poetry.
  3. Seven Firmaments/Heavens, with seven earths?
    1. Quran 41:12, (Yusuf Ali) “So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days, and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.
    2. Quran 71:15-16, (Yusuf Ali) “‘See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another,” 16 And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?”
    3. Quran 65:12, (Yusuf Ali) “Allah is He Who created seven Firmaments and of the earth a similar number. Through the midst of them (all) descends His Command: that ye may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah comprehends all things in (His) Knowledge.”
      1. Comment: Some Muslims say the seven heavens are seven dimensions or six more universes besides our own. This is nothing but conjecture in an attempt to explain away the problems of the Quran. In addition, some Muslims say that the seven earths refer to the seven layers of the earth: inner core, outer core, mantle, crust, lithosphere, asthenosphere, and mesosphere. But, the verse does not say seven layers of earth. It says seven earths. So changing the meaning of the text to make it fit current science proves that what the Quran actually says is not true.
  4. Shooting stars are for driving away evil spirits?
    1. Quran 67:5, (Yusuf Ali) “And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire.”
      1. Comment: Is it really necessary to comment on this? Shooting stars are very small particles of space dust that hit our atmosphere at high speed and cause a streak of light due to heat and friction. Are we to believe that their intent is to drive away evil spirits? Obviously, this is superstition that Muhammad added to the Quran.
  5. The Moon split in two?
    1. Quran 54:1, (Yusuf Ali) “The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.”
    2. Quran 54:1, (Sahih Intl) “The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].”
      1. Comment: Science, through moon exploration, photos, and satellite imagery, shows no evidence of the moon having been split in two.
    3. Hadith 4864 (https://sunnah.com/bukhari:4864) Sahih Bukhari, “Narrated Ibn Masud: During the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger, the moon was split into two parts; one part remained over the mountain, and the other part went beyond the mountain. On that, Allah’s  Messenger said, “Witness this miracle.”
  6. Everything is created in pairs
    1. Quran 51:47-49, (Yusuf Ali) “With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace. 48 And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out! 49 And of everything We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction.”
    2. Quran 36:36, (Yusuf Ali)  “Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge.”
      1. Comment: In 51:47-49 the context is creation, the “firmanent.” Not all things related to space are created in pairs. Is there a second earth, a second moon, a second, sun?
      2. Comment: In 36:36, there are many organisms on earth that do not exist in pairs: fungi, viruses, bacteria, and the whiptail lizard, which is all female and reproduces by parthenogenesis.
        1. Parthenogenesis is “a reproductive strategy that involves development of a female (rarely a male) gamete (sex cell) without fertilization.” (https://www.britannica.com/science/parthenogenesis)

Historical Mistakes in the Quran

  1. Crucifixion before it was invented
    1. Quran 7:123-124, “Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know! 124 Surely I shall have your hands and feet cut off upon alternate sides. Then I shall crucify you every one,”.
      1. Comment: The Phoenicians invented crucifixion around 600 B.C. The Egyptians didn’t crucify anyone because it hadn’t been invented yet. Muhammad didn’t get this right when he made up this verse.
  2. The Jews said Ezra is the Son of Allah?
    1. Quran 9:30 (Pickthall), “And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!”
      1. Comment: There is no record of the Jews calling Uzair, Ezra, God.

Mistakes in the Quran makes about Christian, biblical theology

  1. The Trinity is three gods.
    1. Quran 5:73, (Yusuf Ali), “They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.”
      1. Comment: Notice how the Quran attacks the idea that Allah is one of three because there is no god except Allah. This means the Quran mistakenly teaches the Trinity is three gods. But, the Trinity doctrine has never been that it is three gods. Instead, it is the teaching that the one God exists as three simultaneous persons, not three gods. (See the article:
The Christian Trinitarian God Examined In Depth)
  2. Mary is the sister of Aaron.
    1. Quran 19:27-28, (Yusuf Ali) “At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: “O Mary! Truly an amazing thing hast thou brought! 28 “O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!”
      1. Comment: The context is dealing with Mary bore Jesus (Quran 19:20-29). But, Mary was not the sister of Aaron. the Quran got it wrong. According to its own words (Quran 4:82), it’s not from Allah.
