The Bible does not mention extraterrestrial or alien life. However, it does mention angels and demonic forces which are, in a sense, not of this world. This is not the kind of alien, extraterrestrial life that most people are talking about when the subject comes up. Nevertheless, the Bible makes no mention whatsoever of aliens from other planets who might be visiting us.

That does not mean we can’t offer some theological speculations on the topic. Biblically speaking, Adam represented all creation, and when he fell, creation fell with him.

Rom. 8:22, “For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.”

This implies that if there were any life forms out there on other planets, they would be fallen as well, which would mean they would need a Redeemer. But Jesus, who is the second person of the Trinity, is permanently incarnate as a man (Col. 2:9; 1 Cor. 15:28; Heb. 7:25) and died for our sins (1 Pet. 2:24). It would seem biblically impossible that he would die again on another world. Furthermore, we see nothing in Scripture that would indicate that the Father and/or the Holy Spirit would be able to die for sins of other beings on other worlds. Therefore, they would have no Redeemer at all.

So, is there life on other planets? The Bible doesn’t say, but it doesn’t seem likely.
