Tradition

Tradition is the handing down from person-to-person various customs and procedures. Tradition can be a belief, a story, or a practice that has been regularly held in the past.

In Roman Catholicism, tradition is the handing down through the centuries from mouth-to-mouth of the teachings of Jesus. It began with the apostles and continues unbroken to the present bishopric of the Catholic Church.
