This is the second dialogue I’ve had with westoftherockies.  He approached me again on 8/14/2013 and immediately began to berate me. As you can see in the dialogue below, he is accusatory, rude, judgmental, and has no interest in actually finding out what I teach.  He tells me what I believe (and gets it wrong) and then attacks me for it.  I strongly recommend that Christians stay away from him.

As with the first lengthy dialogue, I have bolded the insults, and this time I underlined some points of interest.

I am posting the following two sections of scripture because I think they are relevant to this situation.

• Gal. 5:19-24, “Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires,”
• Titus 3:10-11, “Reject a factious man after a first and second warning, 11 knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.”

Matt: You show no love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self control. But you DO show enmity, anger, disputes, dissension, factions, etc.

You don’t have the guts to use your real name and take a real risk. Because of this, we don’t take you seriously. If you want to be taken seriously you need to man up and use your real name. If you don’t, the rest of us are going to continue to dismiss you as someone who exhibits the deeds of the flesh, rather than the fruit of the Spirit… So that you can hide behind your anonymity as you expose to us all what you’re really made up: Anger, enmity, accusation, dissension, strife, etc. No wonder you hide.

Matt: My hope is in Jesus Christ and I’m justified by faith alone in him alone. And the reason I am justified by faith alone in him alone is because he is chosen me (2 Thess. 2:13), granted that I believe (Philippians 1:29), and granted me repentance (2 Timothy 2:25).

Matt: Your problem is that you don’t seem to really be a Calvinist in your soteriology.
westoftherockies: Repenting? I know what repenting really is.  I’m not catholic like you.   I don’t use a Webster’s dictionary for the definition of repenting.
Matt: You seem to believe that salvation is dependent upon a proper understanding of doctrine that you think has to be understood the way you believe it needs to be understood.

Matt: But what you’re ultimately doing is forgetting that it is God who elects and predestines and regenerates and that our salvation is not dependent on our understanding of a doctrine. Our salvation is dependent upon the sovereign will and calling of God who, in his irresistible grace, causes us to be born again.
Matt: The regeneration of God in us means that we look to Christ and that we seek to do his will. But what you’re doing is saying that doctrines must be affirmed and believed in order to be a true Christian. But you have it reversed.
westoftherockies: Everyone does his will.  Thy will be done.  Everyone does his will.
Matt: You don’t even understand what it is you’re doing. You have a fundamental error….. I don’t believe you have a very sophisticated understanding of reformed theology.
westoftherockies: You sound Arminian. How about trying to make sense?  A sophisticated form of reformed theology?
Matt: That, combined with your repeated condemnation, accusation, and deeds of the flesh, urges me towards the conclusion that, if you are regenerated at all, then you are most certainly still in bondage to your own sin.
